Being a Mompreneur is Hard!
You see people on Shark Tank every week. Another product, another service, another company. It seems like there is an endless parade of entrepreneurs. But, those sharks don’t ever give these people enough credit for all the work, money, blood, sweat and tears that it took to even get them on that stage. Let me tell you, it takes a lot.
Years ago, I had my first baby. He drooled all the time, spit-up all the time, and threw up all the time. My clothes were always disgusting. So, I decided to create a baby feeding cloth that would completely protect my clothes and never fall off. This was the ONLY way I could get to work on time and clean. Then I decided to make this my new baby, my company.
Since that day, it has been a long and rough road. It takes more money, more connections, more phone calls, more late nights, and tougher skin than you could ever foresee. But, doing it while you are taking care of three kids has been even more challenging. My one year old, Jackson, broke a lamp during a meeting with my lawyer. My son, Seth, has been dragged to the print shop I don’t know how many times. And I’ve had to end numerous conference calls due to babies waking up early from nap.
Despite all that, it is exciting to be out there trying to make something happen. I truly believe that my product will make moms’ lives easier and more fabulous. That is something I truly believe in and it makes it all worth it.
Thank you for being a part of Madison Avenue Mommy and my dream.
